Just received my September/

October 2018 issue and read your great articles: ‘Time For A Change’ and Ilene’s story about ‘Beating Diabetes Shame’.

I was in the supermarket one evening recently and overheard a staff member at the self-serve check out talking to another saying that people get type 2 diabetes from having an unhealthy lifestyle. I had to bite my tongue!

Having been diagnosed as type 2 a few years ago, my husband has recently been diagnosed also. I was feeling that I could not even look after myself, with my BGLs all over the place, and now my partner needed me even more. I was off the rails and had to take control again. Blood levels are down to a safe level with medication and some weight loss.

Loving your magazine with great recipe ideas and valuable information for all of us. Keep it up!

Madge, Vic
