Coastal Brown Bear Cubs
Los Angeles, USA
4 “This image was taken on my last morning at Lake Clark National Park on the Alaska Peninsula, just one hour before I flew back home.
“It was low tide. This sow took her cubs out to the inlet shores to dig for clams. I was able to capture this moment, as all three of these timid first-year cubs hesitated to follow their mother out onto the wide-open expanse of exposed wet sand.
“Although the light was very poor and the rain was coming down, I got a few great shots from that morning, and this was one of my favourites.” Canon 1Ds Mark II with Canon 300mm f/2.8 IS lens at 300mm and Canon 1.4x extender;
