M is for Motion

-

Movement adds a real sense of energy to travel shots, and a dash of creative blur can be really striking, To blur a moving subject, set a low ISO of 100, and use Aperture Priority mode (A or Av). Dial in a high f/number like f/16 or f/22 and you’ll get a much longer shutter speed. Around 1/10 sec will be enough to blur vehicles and people, but you’ll need to use a tripod or rest against something solid to avoid camera shake.

For even more dramatic effects, set a long shutter speed and rotate your zoom ring while you capture the shot. This will give a powerful zoom burst effect, turning street scenes into a shimmering display of motion and colour.
