BACKLIT SUBJECT
Underexposed 1
Shooting into the sun means that you’ll end up with an underexposed subject or overexposed background – or both, as here.
Adding fill-flash 2
One option is to use a blip of flash to brighten up the backlit subject. The flash will need to be close to the subject for this to work.
Corrected 3
You’ll need to keep the shutter speed at the ‘flash sync speed’ or slower when shooting in daylight – check the camera manual for details.
