HOME PRINTING

Online and high street print labs are easy to use and their prices are very persuasive, but nothing beats the convenience and immediacy of a home printing set-up.

GAMUT WARNING

With this checkbox selected the preview will highlight any areas that fall outside the printer’s colour range. This is a useful tool because it will show you which colours from your RGB file will be compromised when printed with inks.

PRINTER SETUP

Use the menus in this panel to specify your printer, paper size, orientation and type.

PRINTER PROFILE

This is where you select the profile for the printer and paper combination you’re using. Most paper manufacturers supply profiles, which you can download and install.

RENDERING INTENT

There’s no right or wrong Rendering Intent. However, the Perceptual option is generally considered the most suitable for photographs.

COLOR HANDLING

You can select either Printer or Photoshop to manage the colours here. To fully control the colours in your print, choose Photoshop Manages Color, and specify a profile.
