Gitzo Systematic Series 4
From £749/$884
Gitzo proves you get what you pay for
Yes, the price tag is jaw-dropping – but you don’t have to spend too long with these Gitzo Systematic tripods to see where the money has
been spent. The tripods are deceptively simple, surprisingly light and exceptionally rigid.
We tested the Gitzo GT4533LS Systematic Series 4, which is just one of 12 different models. These break down into three different series: 3, 4 and 5, each of which is available with a choice of leg lengths and numbers of sections. It’s a modular system, with a choice of centre columns (they work perfectly well without a column too), heads and other accessories, so the cost do mount up; but the engineering, usability and stability of these Systematic tripods is impressive.
