MUSIC: PINK, MADONNA AND MORE
Five years after her last album, The Truth About Love, it’s album seven for Alecia Moore who co-wrote all 13 of the tracks with a veritable who’s who of radiofriendly hit-makers. The stirring first single, What About Us, written with Snow Patrol, screams out for a mega Oliver Heldens or Martin Garrix remix, so we can but hope for that on a future deluxe edition. Luckily, the mother-oftwo, who turns 38 this month, has somehow managed to avoid “Ed Sheeran syndrome” where oversaturated mainstream popularity equals widespread hipster disdain. There are fist clutches of roof-raising and air-punching anthems on Beautiful Trauma suggesting a world tour seems inevitable. So what about P!nk flashing her red bits on the album cover? Looks like someone has decided to pick up where Gaga left off. Be careful what you wish for, P!nkie!
