PENTATONIX – PTX PRESENTS: TOP POP, VOL 1

DNA Magazine - - MUSIC REVIEWS -

Without a doubt the world’s finest vocal harmony group, triple Grammy winners Pentatonix offer up their inaugural PTV Presents series, featuring 11 modern pop performances including their sexy rearrangement of Camila Cabello’s Havana. Other recent chart toppers to be reinterpreted by the quintet include Ed Sheeran’s Perfect, Charlie Puth’s Attention and Dua Lipa’s awesome New Rules. Not content to merely re-do other’s work, New Rules gets mashed-up with Alliyah’s 1998 Are You That Somebody hit. It’s clever, it’s quirky and it’s perfect to sing along to (or beatbox if you’re so inclined). We especially love that it’s a male voice singing about breaking up with his boyfriend on the new New Rules.
