THE PRIDE OF SAN DIEGO

-

1. San Diego has been named 9th most LGBT friendly US city, with the 7th highest percentage of gay residents in the USA. 2. The city hosts a concentration of US military personnel (and the world’s biggest naval fleet). Lots of handsome men in uniform. 3. Billed as “San Diego’s most popular bar/club”, Rich’s boasts a massive dancefloor and gay anthems, plus locals who’ll buy you beers. 4. Café 21 offers inventive omlettes and big-servings of cakes (savory and sweet). Possibly the best breakfast in town. 5. Instagramers, head to the quaint Gaslight Quarter, next to the bay. It’s full of funky historic buildings, gas lamps and cute stores. 6. Everything you want in San Diego is generally no more than 10 minutes away so grab a Lyft or Uber. 7. The seafood is fresh and delicious and you’ll eat well for less. The city is also famed for whale watching during winter. 8. Ghirardelli boasts luxe chocolates, quirky gelato and huge fudge sundaes, perfect for post-Pride carb loading. 9. After Pride, San Diego hosts ComicCon, the world’s biggest pop culture convention, so stay on for cosplay and superhero fun. 10. Dont fly. Catch the train down the haunting Californian coast (two hours from LA) arriving at San Diego’s historic Santa Fe station.
