Crowned a “rising star” by Billboard and dubbed a “little sis” by Taylor Swift, Kelsea is an absolute kween. Here’s what the starlet spilled to DOLLY while she was visiting Down Under...

WHAT’S YOUR ADVICE TO GIRLS ON EMBRACING THEIR FEMININE POWER?

Embracing who you are is the most empowering thing you can ever do. Things that people think are different are not bad, they’re just different and that’s OK. The minute I let that be my compass, I became a happier person.

WHAT’S TAYLOR LIKE AS A FRIEND?

She’s exactly the same as she is as an artist; she’s consistently Taylor Swift. Everyone knows and loves her, and she’s wonderful to just learn from because she’s a very successful singer-songwriter who started out in country music. I adore her!

WHAT WAS IT LIKE TO PERFORM WITH HER?

It was incredible. It was in Nashville and I’ve actually seen all of her tours in that arena, so it was surreal to sing with her there.

WHAT’S YOUR GO-TO KARAOKE SONG?

“Since U Been Gone” by Kelly Clarkson. No one can sing it well unless you’re Kelly and karaoke is not meant to be good.

WHAT WERE YOU LIKE AS A TEENAGER?

I was good… I think? I was boring, I just did school and dancing, and hung out with Mum and my dog.

Kelsea’s album The First Time is out now.
