Our online kweens dressed as the Chanels from Scream Queens for a week. What happened next was to DIE for.

WHAT DID YOU THINK ABOUT THE FASHION ON SCREAM QUEENS BEFORE THIS?

Sammy: Pink everything, are you kidding me?! I absolutely LOVED the fashion on Scream Queens from the get-go. Bianca: I always thought Scream Queens fashion was over the top in the best way possible. I loved it.

WHAT’S YOUR GO-TO WORK LOOK?

Sammy: I’m obsessed with the ‘70s and ‘90s so I love flared pants and floaty dresses, and usually pair them with white trainers or black boots and a choker. My hair and makeup are pretty simple, sometimes I curl my hair on the ends for a bit of volume and go for neutral eyes, dewy skin, false lashes and a brown lip. Bianca: My personal style involves a lot of black pieces. For work I like to keep it stylish because the world is your runway! I will always have my hair out, usually curled, and my makeup routine includes everything that makes me feel glam.

WHAT WAS THE HAIR AND MAKEUP TRANSFORMATION LIKE?

Sammy: Our amazing makeup artist first made my skin flawless and contoured followed by a dramatic AF eye that screamed ~don’t mess with me~. Next came the perfectly smooth hairdo Chanel rocks and I BECAME her. The dramatic eye makeup was pretty full-on and out of my comfort zone, but I took so many selfies, ‘cos it’s not every day you get to look like a Scream Queen. Bianca: My transformation into Ariana Grande’s Chanel character was great because I love her so much. I got to rock her signature high pony, cat’s eye and contouring that was ~on fleek~. I felt about ten thousand times more sassy and confident.

HOW DID YOU FEEL WHEN YOU SAW THE OUTFITS?

Sammy: Pink is my favourite colour but for some reason, I never wear it. So when I saw the silk and the fur and the cape dress, I knew I was about to be living my best life. Bianca: When I saw the outfits I was a little nervous because they’re so not work appropes but who cares when this is classified as ‘work’.

WHAT WAS IT LIKE WHEN YOU HAD THE FULL LOOKS ON?

Sammy: My DOLLY team absolutely loved it. But as for everyone else? Walking around the building was hilarious. Especially at the end of the day when I hopped in the lift and couldn’t escape the ~looks~ from other people but I gotta admit, I loved the attention. Bianca: I got a lot of interesting looks from people. Not everybody in our building is DOLLY staff, so you can imagine what people were thinking when I was strutting around in sequins, fur and so much makeup. I think people were too afraid to make comments because they had no idea if I was being serious or not. I went to Starbucks and that was definitely an experience – so many judgemental looks, but I werked it because I was feelin’ fierce.

DID IT CHANGE THE WAY YOU BEHAVED AT WORK?

Sammy: A bit of Chanel sass came out in my meetings when I was dressed as her, and that was amazing. I felt so confident strutting around the building and strangely powerful, like I could handle anything thrown my way. Bianca: This is what I loved most. It made me feel like I could be more confident in my ideas for work. Who isn’t going to listen to the girl dressed in hot-pink sparkles?!

DID YOU FEEL LIKE A DIFFERENT PERSON IN YOUR LOOKS?

Sammy: I did, but like another version of myself. This is how I would dress if I was a singer or a rich Hollywood heiress. Bianca: I felt like a more enhanced version of myself.

WHAT DID YOU LEARN FROM THE EXPERIENCE?

Sammy: I learned that I need to buy more pink (which I ended up doing) and how the power of dressing a certain way can totally transform the way you behave, walk and interact with others. Bianca: I learned that feeling good on the outside makes you feel even better on the inside. Incorporating more pink into my wardrobe makes me feel sassy, cute and GIRLY AF, which is the best feeling ever, by the way. I also realised I should wear my hair off my face more instead of hiding behind my long hair all the time. It’s all about that confidence.

“WHEN I SAW THE SILK AND THE FUR AND THE CAPE DRESS, I KNEW I WAS ABOUT TO BE LIVING MY BEST LIFE.”
