It’s quite possible that the career you’re keen on doesn’t even require a university degree – what you may need is an apprenticeship. An apprenticeship is a program that lets you learn the ins and outs of a particular job by actually working in the field (that’s right, you actually get PAID to do it!). Then, after earning your qualifications, you’ll be careerready. More than 500 occupations offer apprenticeship or traineeship opportunities as either full-time or part-time programs, so there’s sure to be something that takes your fancy. You can start an apprenticeship while you’re still studying or you can start when school ends and, best of all, there’s no ATAR required.
