THE Con­struc­tion Farm­ing Co­op­er­a­tive at Nar­romine has been awarded a $169,300 grant to un­der­take a project aimed at over­com­ing bar­ri­ers that grow­ers face to adopt and pro­duce large amounts of cer­ti­fied or­ganic grain.

Mem­ber for Parkes, Mark Coul­ton, wel­comed the Coali­tion Gov­ern­ment fund­ing, as part of a $1.3 mil­lion grant round, to sup­port new co­op­er­a­tive and col­lab­o­ra­tive busi­ness ar­range­ments and boost far­m­gate re­turns.

“This will lead to the elim­i­na­tion of pro­duc­tion and sup­ply bar­ri­ers that cur­rently pre­vent lo­cal farmer groups from im­ple­ment­ing trans­for­ma­tive grain pro­duc­tion meth­ods and the for­ma­tion of a wide range of lo­calised pro­ducer groups across Aus­tralia that are linked by com­mon knowl­edge and
