Welling­ton gets new brand for pro­mo­tion

THE first stand-alone brand for Welling­ton is a sig­nif­i­cant step for the town to start build­ing a plat­form for des­ti­na­tion mar­ket­ing, or­gan­is­ers say.

The brand in­te­grates the phys­i­cal at­tributes of Welling­ton, iden­ti­fied by the com­mu­nity as key for tourism at­trac­tion and res­i­den­tial pride: the moun­tains, the wa­ter bod­ies, the agri­cul­tural in­dus­try and the cul­tural his­tory along with the per­son­al­ity of Welling­ton’s peo­ple be­ing a lit­tle cheeky, warm, the Aus­tralian lar­rikin, out­doorsy, ad­ven­tur­ous and fun.

De­vel­op­ment of mar­ket­ing col­lat­eral and cam­paigns are un­der­way and the com­mu­nity and wider tar­get mar­kets will soon see the changes in mar­ket, a coun­cil re­lease said.
