JCB 422ZX wheel loader developed for Oz Cat teams up with Aussie bricklaying robot firm
JCB Construction Equipment Australia (CEA) has launched the 422ZX wheel loader, which the company says has been specifically developed for the Australian market.
JCB says the new loader delivers high levels of productivity along with much lower fuel consumption and running costs.
The loader also has a number of features geared toward the dry and dusty conditions experienced in Australia, such as a reversible cooling fan to prevent dust build-up and additional belly guards.
“We’ve worked hard to create a wheel loader that helps keep fuel costs down without compromising on productivity,” JCB CEA wheel loader national product manager Deon Cope says.
“During a typical duty cycle, the 422ZX is up to 26 per cent more fuel efficient than other loaders.
“With proven, durable components and excellent service and maintenance access, the JCB 422ZX offers customers a powerful, efficient loader with reduced operating costs, designed and built to perform in the toughest operating conditions.”
Weighing in at just under 12 tonnes, the 422ZX is powered by a 93kW JCB Dieselmax 4-cylinder diesel configured to US Tier 2 emission standards. The loader’s shovel can take 1.7 cubic metres of material for a full turn tipping load of 6600kg.
“The 422ZX uses proven technology and components for ease of maintenance and maximum uptime, including a JCB Dieselmax engine, delivering 525Nm of torque for excellent digging and loading capabilities,” Cope adds.
The 422ZX features a gullwing bonnet side panel design that allows for ground-level maintenance.
The fully ROPS/FOPS-compliant operators cab on the 422ZX features heating/air-conditioning and improved all-round visibility.
“An emergency steer system is also fitted, allowing for machine recovery should you lose power, giving operators the ability to steer the machine into a safe area if a malfunction should occur,” Cope says .
