WANNEROO made a solid start to day 1 of its two-day clash with Midland Guildford on Saturday, bowling the home side out for 215 before finishing the day on 2-58 at Lilac Hill.

Midland Guildford started its innings inauspiciously, losing its first four wickets for 43 runs.

The home side struggled for any momentum throughout its innings, until Julian Crudeli arrived at the crease at 6113.

Crudeli fell one run short of a half-century but instilled some life back into his side’s innings, finishing with a defendable 215.

Matthew Dzodzo and Christopher Quelch ripped through the top order and tail-enders respectively, finishing with three wickets each.

Wanneroo pushed its advantage at the start of its innings to end the day on 2-58, with Matthew Spoors and Jacob Johnston unbeaten at the crease.

Wanneroo will continue its run chase on day 2, which begins on Saturday, November 18, at 11.40am, at Lilac Hill.
