His anx­ious ad­vice was log­i­cal: when played with a guide, Braid lacks chal­lenge. More­over, the game is fin­ished quickly. Like a crossword, the en­tirety of the game’s ap­peal is in its solv­ing. To en­cour­age play­ers to take the harder route, Blow cre­ated an ‘of­fi­cial walk­through’ doc­u­ment for pub­lic down­load. When opened, the guide’s ad­vice to play­ers was curt and sim­ple: work through the puz­zles at your pace. De­spite his best ef­forts, YouTube pro­vided easy sup­port for any­body who be­came stuck on a par­tic­u­lar co­nun­drum.
