Richard Le­marc­hand be­gan his videogame de­sign ca­reer at Microprose in 1991 after re­spond­ing to a job ad­vert in a lo­cal news­pa­per. His ear­li­est projects were ac­tioner Tin­head and flight sim F-15 Strike Ea­gle II, both for Sega’s Mega Drive. Four years later, he moved to Crys­tal Dy­nam­ics as a lead game de­signer on sev­eral games, in­clud­ing the 3DO ver­sion of Gex, and then Pan­de­mo­nium and the Legacy Of Kain se­ries on PlaySta­tion. After nearly a decade with the stu­dio, he moved to Naughty Dog, first work­ing on Jak 3 and Jak X: Com­bat Rac­ing be­fore be­gin­ning the Un­charted se­ries. He now lec­tures at the Univer­sity Of South­ern Cal­i­for­nia.
