Miles Jacobson was working in the music industry when he gave two gig tickets to Domark Software employees in exchange for the chance to become an alpha tester on Championship Manager 2. Sports Interactive co-founders Ov and Paul Collyer realised Jacobson’s talents were being wasted, asking him to publish online data updates before employing him as the company’s unofficial business advisor on a part-time basis. He became the studio’s MD in 1999, leaving his A&R role to take the post full-time two years later. Under his stewardship, Sports Interactive has grown into one of the bestknown names in British development – half of the top ten fastest-selling PC games in the UK are from the Football Manager series.
