It doesn’t take long for Ax­iom Verge to of­fer up its twist, pro­duc­ing some­thing you rarely see out­side of a game that isn’t break­ing down in some way: ‘gl­itched’ sec­tions of en­vi­ron­ment, of­ten pre­sent­ing ob­sta­cles to your progress. In time-hon­oured fash­ion, though, what ini­tially seems im­pass­able soon gives way via the ap­pli­ca­tion of a spe­cial weapon. The tool has less pre­dictable ef­fects on mov­ing tar­gets, de­mand­ing ex­per­i­men­ta­tion to fully ex­plore the re­wards.
