SOUL ON A ROLL

EDGE - - PLAY -

As the name suggests, the Souls games are clearly an inspiration. It’s most obvious in the controls, a two-button setup that maps dodge and sprint to the same input. Yet its control system fails to live up to the Souls series. Where those games trigger a roll when the button is pressed and a sprint when it is held down, here either a short or long press will initiate a roll before the run. Expect to bounce off staircases you’d tried to sprint up on your path back from checkpoint to boss.
