GameCity’s mission to do bold things with videogames thrives on collaboration with other cultural partners. The GameCity Festival has been supported by Nottingham Trent University from the start, and works closely with the local Confetti Institute Of Creative Technologies. It’s also worked with The British Library on the Off The Map competition, a game-making challenge based on documents from the library collection, which this year is focusing on Alice In Wonderland. Alongside Wellcome Trust, which brings scientists together with game developers to create surprising new creative collaborations, GameCity launched The Clover Project, and it’s currently involved in work around Nottingham’s status this year as the first ever City of Football, as appointed by Sport England.
