Nin­tendo Land might have ben­e­fit­ted from fewer, more sub­stan­tial at­trac­tions, but no one could sug­gest that it doesn’t of­fer a last­ing chal­lenge. That’s per­haps to be ex­pected from a full-price release but, even so, it’s sur­pris­ing just how hard you have to work to see ev­ery­thing. The Mas­ter Rank time lim­its in

Pik­min Ad­ven­ture’s Chal­lenge mode are ex­cep­tion­ally strict; the same goes for The Leg­end Of Zelda: Bat­tle Quest, and the tar­gets to at­tain plat­inum tro­phies in the solo ac­tiv­i­ties. Don­key Kong’ s Crash Course, mean­while, proved so ex­act­ing that many as­sumed it was just a sin­gle stage, only for it to flip over as you reached the goal to re­veal an­other.
