www.bit.ly/the­wit­nes­sart Luis An­to­nio, an in­die de­vel­oper and one of the key artists on TheWit­ness, has shared an in-depth look into the process of cre­at­ing the game’s strik­ing-look­ing en­vi­ron­ment and the chal­lenges of work­ing with Jonathan Blow’s ex­act­ing vi­sion for the game. The blog is on­go­ing, and at the time of writ­ing An­to­nio has cov­ered the posters and trail­ers for the game (in­clud­ing those ‘long screen­shots’); how the pan­els, lasers and cables came to­gether; the game’s de­tailed tex­ture work; and sev­eral of the ear­lier ar­eas. All of this is ac­com­pa­nied by a huge num­ber of im­ages that in­clude screen­shots of early test builds and the fin­ished ar­eas, and ref­er­ence shots from field trips. Be warned, though: there’s much to be spoiled here if you haven’t yet fin­ished the game, so tread care­fully.
