Why, af­ter the suc­cess of his de­but game, is he here rather than at the helm of a stu­dio in some UK sub­urb? “I wanted to pro­to­type things by my­self, and feel free to ex­per­i­ment,” he tells us. “I like to have no pres­sure while test­ing ideas. The best thing about Stu­gan is the sup­port net­work it pro­vides. But also the fact that we’re all friends now, hang­ing out to­gether. It’s a lit­tle bit like an old­time vil­lage where ev­ery­one knows each other and helps each other out. Ev­ery­one’s life is kind of on hold – there are just the games to fo­cus on.”
