Rings hol­low


In one sec­tion of The Dreg Heap we en­ter a build­ing in which each step seems to trig­ger more of the staff-hold­ing and legless skeletons. It’s not un­til we’re sev­eral rooms deep that we re­alise that ev­ery­thing we kill in this area respawns in­def­i­nitely, and soon af­ter that it tran­spires that path was a dead end, lead­ing to a chest con­tain­ing a ring. Rather than fight our way out, we re­sort to Kata­mari tac­tics and roll our way back to free­dom as the crea­tures now fill­ing each room swipe at us and fling dark spells in our di­rec­tion.
