Re­view code for Messhof’s sword-pok­ing se­quel sadly didn’t ar­rive in time for this is­sue’s dead­line, but it’s prob­a­bly for the best. Af­ter all, the day the first Nid­hogg ar­rived in the Edge of­fice, we didn’t get a tremen­dous amount done. If E311 feels a bit phoned in, you’ll know why.

As­sas­sin’s Creed Ori­gins

PC, PS4, Xbox One That E3 demo may not have flat­tered, but last year just wasn’t the same with­out a new As­sas­sin’s Creed. It will for­ever have its warts, cer­tainly, but there is al­ways magic buried some­where too. An over­seas ex­pe­di­tion is im­mi­nent; we’ll let you know what we turn up.

Star Fox 2 SNES

For­get Mario + Rab­bids: the big­gest Nin­tendo sur­prise of 2017 is over 20 years old. This se­quel, can­celled shortly be­fore re­lease in 1995, will fi­nally be playable thanks to SNES Mini. It’ll likely be rub­bish, yes, but we’re look­ing for­ward to find­ing out for our­selves. Surely it can’t be worse than Ad­ven­tures.
