Kick frizz and tame curls with this zero-effort hair SOS

Say so long to frizz with this in-salon smoothing treatment.

WHAT IT IS: Think of it as “diet keratin” – a gentle conditioning treatment packed with amino acid that reduces frizz, making hair more manageable, but not poker straight. A bhave Smoothe Keratin Therapy appointment starts with a consultation, followed by a shampoo and rough blowdry. The bhave treatment is then applied in small sections to the hair in the same way colour is, using a brush to get it close to the roots and then taken down through the lengths. The treatment then works its magic, deep conditioning with argan oil, collagen and silk amino acids while you relax for 45 minutes. There's no gross smell or toxic fumes. It's then washed out, hair is dried again and smoothed with a flat iron until the lengths are stick straight. Unlike other keratin treatments, you can go home and wash it straight away, though it's recommend to wait a day or two to maximise results.

Getting your hair coloured. It's totally painless – other than devoting a few hours in the salon.

VERDICT: Hair is certainly smoother and less fluffy. It still takes a while to dry, but now feels “wash and go” as it's less frizzy and more polished when air-dried. There's a bit of natural movement, but a volumising spray adds some needed oomph. With results lasting two to five months, it's a great option for battling humidity or forgoing hot tools in the summer months. Starting from $375, PALOMA,
