Key projects tour highlight
A TECHNICAL tour organised as part of the National Economic Development Conference would provide a valuable insight into key projects in the Perth metropolitan area, according to City of Swan Mayor Mick Wainwright.
Cr Wainwright said the preconference tour would focus on current tourism, economic and infrastructure development projects.
“The tour will start within the City of Swan and showcase some of our major projects and our beautiful region before heading into the Perth CBD where we will discuss some major State Government projects,” he said.
“As we travel through the Swan Valley, we will provide a brief history of the region and its importance for tourism.
“This is Western Australia’s oldest wine growing region and Australia’s first Humane Food Region.
“We will also discuss the City’s Midland Oval Redevelopment Master plan, which will transform the precinct into a fresh, vibrant and unique centre for Midland.”
North Ward Councillor Kevin Bailey said the tour would also take in Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority (MRA) works, particularly the revitalisation of the Midland Railway Workshops.
The tour will be held on Tuesday, October 4, from 1pm to 4pm and will leave from the Vines Resort and Country Club.
