Disney artist for holidays

Ellenbrook Advocate - - NEWS -

BUDDING young cartoonists can learn from a Disney artist in Ellenbrook these school holidays.

Swan Mayor Mick Wainwright said a series of four art workshops would be held at the Ellenbrook Library.

“These are free workshops which will provide participants with a range of different skills needed to create an anime, manga or caricature art project,” he said.

Those who want to take part will need to to attend all four workshops.

Ellenbrook Ward Councillor Cate McCullough said the workshops were part of the mix of activities organised by the Cool Room (Ellenbrook Youth Centre) during the school holidays.

“Art workshops will be held on Friday, September 30, as well as Monday, Thursday and Friday, October 3, 6 and 7,” she said.

“In addition to these, there will also be a Skate Clinic with Skateboarding WA at the Ellenbrook Skate Park on Wednesday, September 28, and a visit to the Hangout Indoor Climbing Centre leaving from the Cool Room on Wednesday, October 5.

“Most activities are free and the visit to Hangout only costs $5 per person, so these activities are a great way to bust holiday boredom without breaking the bank.”

Activities are for 10 to 17-year olds, except the Skate Clinic, which is for all ages.

Registration forms are available at the Ellenbrook Library, Ellenbrook Place Office or at www.swan.wa.gov.au/events.
