THE Ellenbrook Rab­bitohs Rugby League Club are cel­e­brat­ing their first pre­mier­ship af­ter the girls’ League Tag team won their grand fi­nal.

The girls, aged from 12-16, dom­i­nated the Rock­ing­ham Sharks 24-4 at Dor­rien Gar­dens in Leed­erville with some spec­tac­u­lar tries and tags.

Rab­bitohs player Natahlia Thomp­son was named Player of the Day af­ter the match.

The boys’ un­der-13 team also made the grand fi­nal, but went down 18-10 to the South Perth Lions af­ter a hard-fought game.

The club – only in their sec­ond league sea­son – also had their un­der-12 team make the quar­ter fi­nal, and un­der-11 team make the semi fi­nal.

The win­ners of last year’s NRL Grass­roots Club of the Year will ex­pand and en­ter an un­der-18 team, third grade team and women’s League Tag in the se­nior league com­pe­ti­tion in 2017.

The next touch sea­son starts on Fri­day, Oc­to­ber 14 at Ar­bor Grove sports grounds in Ellenbrook.
