Step up as a councillor

Ellenbrook Advocate - - NEWS -

NOMINATIONS for the City of Swan council elections opened last week, with seven councillors up for re-election.

The nomination period will run until September 14 at 4pm sharp, with those interested in running encouraged to get in early.

WA Electoral Commissioner David Kerslake said nominating as a candidate was a great way to influence your community’s long-term vision.

“Standing for council provides an opportunity for citizens to be directly involved in shaping their local community,” he said.

“Councillors make critical decisions that directly impact the lives of local residents.”

If you’re interested in running, make an appointment with the City of Swan’s returning officer and lodge your nomination.
