Transport company shown appreciation
THE Ellenbrook RSL sub branch has presented a plaque to Barminco Engineering after the company helped transport an armoured personnel carrier from Bandiana in Victoria to Perth.
The APC M113A, which is parked at the Whiteman Park motor museum, was transported two years ago.
Ellenbrook RSL sub branch media liason Frank Mallard said Mike Radi and Dan Wilkins from Barminco Engineering were presented with a plaque last week as a way to thank them for their help in transporting the carrier.
He said the sub branch was also holding their annual general meeting next week and hoped to encourage more people to join as members.
“There will be positions vacant and we’re hoping to get some fresh blood at the RSL,” he said.
“The AGM is open to all non-members and people who are eligible to join the RSL and we’d encourage anyone interested to come along.”
The RSL will be putting on a BBQ after the meeting.
The AGM will be held at Woodlake Community Centre on Sunday September 17 from 3pm.
