Retail outlet near airport
WORK has started on the state’s first Direct Factory Outlet, a $150 million retail development next to Perth Airport.
Jointly funded by Vicinity Centres and the airport on a 9ha site, the centre known as DFO will open next year with 120 specialty stores.
Vicinity Centres development general manager Carolyn Viney said the development would become a new home for fashion, offering up to 70 per cent off designer brands all-year round. Artist’s impression of the DFO.
“The new DFO will add to the vibrancy of our city and our tourism offering to attract visitors to Perth and WA,” Perth Airport chief executive Kevin Brown said.
Mr Brown said the development would create about 900 jobs, including 250 throughout construction and 650 retail and hospitality roles at the completed centre.
