Re­tail out­let near air­port

WORK has started on the state’s first Di­rect Fac­tory Out­let, a $150 mil­lion re­tail de­vel­op­ment next to Perth Air­port.

Jointly funded by Vicin­ity Cen­tres and the air­port on a 9ha site, the cen­tre known as DFO will open next year with 120 spe­cialty stores.

Vicin­ity Cen­tres de­vel­op­ment gen­eral man­ager Carolyn Viney said the de­vel­op­ment would be­come a new home for fash­ion, of­fer­ing up to 70 per cent off de­signer brands all-year round. Artist’s im­pres­sion of the DFO.

“The new DFO will add to the vi­brancy of our city and our tourism of­fer­ing to at­tract visi­tors to Perth and WA,” Perth Air­port chief ex­ec­u­tive Kevin Brown said.

Mr Brown said the de­vel­op­ment would cre­ate about 900 jobs, in­clud­ing 250 through­out con­struc­tion and 650 re­tail and hospi­tal­ity roles at the com­pleted cen­tre.
