Walk attracts 100
ELLENBROOK residents have walked more than 340km as part of the City of Swan’s Ellenbrook Winter Walking Challenge.
More than 100 residents took part in the challenge, which ran through August, with residents encouraged to complete as many laps of the Ellenbrook Sports Hub precinct as possible and record their results via the City’s website.
Mayor Mick Wainwright said the aim of the challenge was to get people active during winter. “We all know how tempting it can be to stay indoors when it is cold outside, so we wanted to give the Ellenbrook community an incentive to keep moving, which they did despite some really wet and wild weather,” he said.
“Not only did they get the benefits of all that exercise, but they also got the chance to go in the running to win some fantastic prizes.”
