CHITTERING artist Sharon ‘Shabbi’ Phelps will part­ner with Kirsty Watkins in a raw art ex­hi­bi­tion show­cas­ing WA el­e­ments.

CHITTERING artist Sharon Phelps will show­case her or­ganic art in Fre­man­tle next week at Ki­dogo Art­house.

The artist, also known as Shabbi, will be part­ner­ing with long-term friend and Bic­ton artist Kirsty Watkins in the ex­hi­bi­tion El­e­ments, with the two artists bring­ing to­gether fire, wa­ter and earth to cre­ate a series of stun­ning pieces of work.

Phelps, who is known for her eclec­tic range of work, will show­case 23 ceram­ics and eight paint­ings. She said her work was about us­ing nat­u­ral fin­ishes.

“My pots are very nat­u­ral; I use seaweed, horse hair and salt to bake the pots,” she said.

“They are very much the earth and fire of the ex­hi­bi­tion.”

Watkins will dis­play 18 acrylic paint­ings, with her in­spi­ra­tion the beau­ti­ful WA coast­line.

El­e­ments will run from Novem­ber 16 to 23, 11am un­til 4pm daily.
