The City of Swan is call­ing on the com­mu­nity to get in­volved in the up­com­ing Bike in the Val­ley event.

CY­CLISTS in the City of Swan are gear­ing up for the an­nual Bike in the Val­ley event, which gets peo­ple ac­tive and ex­plor­ing what the Swan Val­ley has to of­fer.

The ride, suit­able for all ages and fit­ness lev­els, has three routes: 8km, 18km and 30km, start­ing and fin­ish­ing at Chardon­nay Park in The Vines.

City of Swan Mayor David Lu­cas said this year’s event is free and will cater for all fit­ness lev­els.

“From ju­nior or part-time ped­dlers to sea­soned cy­clists, Bike in the Val­ley wel­comes ev­ery com­mu­nity mem­ber from all walks of life,” he said.

“Bike in the Val­ley is a great com­mu­nity event year af­ter year, and I look for­ward to tak­ing part in the 8km ride with some of my grand­chil­dren.”

Swan Val­ley ward coun­cil­lor Char­lie Zan­nino said the ride show­cased the best of the Swan Val­ley.

“The Swan Val­ley pro­vides the per­fect back­drop to the three route op­tions, weav­ing through some of the re­gion’s geo­graph­i­cal high­lights,” he said.

“From green pas­tures to sprawl­ing winer­ies and lo­cal busi­nesses, cy­clists will see the very best of what the Swan Val­ley has to of­fer.”

Bike in the Val­ley will kick off from 9am on Sun­day, April 29, from Chardon­nay Park (cor­ner of Bar­bera Lane and Vines Av­enue, The Vines).
