THE Midland Junction Arts Centre will showcase the annual In Focus art exhibition this month, featuring two free workshops for aspiring artists.

The exhibition, which is supported by the City of Swan and DADDAA staff, is on until April 20 and will be curated by participating artists.

This year, artists are redefining the traditional idea of a canvas by transforming unusual objects to communicate their artistic ideas, which has been created in the form of everything from teaspoons, clay and felt to animation, skate decks and paperbark.

City of Swan Mayor David Lucas said the exhibition featured more than 80 artists, who varied from inspired beginners to well-known creatives.

“I’m very excited to see most of the artists live around Midland and the eastern region, and can’t wait to see what they’ve come up with,” he said.
