IRRITATING SCUMBAG AMY makes life miserable for her adoptive parents, until they move to the country and Amy becomes friends with local girl Chloe. At first it seems as though Chloe might be a calming influence, but it turns out that Chloe has more sinister motives for getting close to the family, and Amy finds she has to fight for the family she has been trying to escape. Despite a fairly short runtime it takes a little while to really get moving, but it blossoms into a tense thriller once it does. The mood is heightened by Warren Ellis’ brooding score; Samara Weaving in particular wows with a transformation from sweetness to menace in a fully committed performance. TK
