SHIOLI KUTSUNA

Empire (Australasia) - - PREVIEW -

You lived in Australia until the age of 14. Excited to be returning?

It’s been one of my dreams to come back to Sydney for this film festival. I’ve been wanting to come for 10 years and I’m so excited to see all my family and friends there. Oh Lucy! has been a truly amazing project that I was lucky enough to be a part of, and we all are very excited to show this film to everyone in Sydney. I miss the nature, I miss the people, I miss the accent, and I do miss Vegemite!

Can you tell us how you landed the role of Yukio in Deadpool 2?

I went through a few self-taped auditions followed by Skype auditions and then the final was talking to the director through Skype.

The wonders of modern technology! What it was like working with Ryan Reynolds?

It took a while to actually understand and digest the situation I was in. Just watching Ryan as Wade everyday, that was truly amazing. He made me feel so welcome and comfortable from the very start, and I just had so much to learn from him everyday.

Is there a chance we’ll see more of Yukio in the future?

I hope so!

SHIOLI WILL ATTEND AN OH LUCY! Q&A SCREENING IN SYDNEY ON 25 NOVEMBER
