Bowlers keep eyes on ac­tion


PEN­NANT re­sults were not as suc­cess­ful as last week but di­vi­sion five had a win at Tal­ly­ga­roopna, which is a new club in the Goul­burn Valley As­so­ci­a­tion pen­nant.

Di­vi­sion one trav­elled to Shep­par­ton Park and were de­feated by the home side 87/108.

P Naughton (s), M Stevens, W Tiller, B Do­herty lost to R Hill 18/32.

Di­vi­sion four played Shep­par­ton Golf at Euroa and lost to the vis­i­tors 85/108.

This Satur­day, Novem­ber 26, di­vi­sion one are home to Kyabram, di­vi­sion four play at Kyabram and di­vi­sion five are home to Shep­par­ton RSL.

Raf­fle win­ners on Satur­day were K John­son, Shep­par­ton Park and D Tiller.

Last Wed­nes­day, a suc­cess­ful so­cial bowls day was held at the greens with 26 play­ers tak­ing part.

One game was played in the morn­ing, fol­lowed by a steak sand­wich lunch and two games af­ter lunch and the win­ners were J Groat (s), R Whitelaw and D Lomer.

On Sun­day the Goul­burn Valley di­vi­sion of the state men’s pairs was played at Euroa with each pair play­ing three games of ‘ Knock­out Pairs’ in the five sec­tions.

The win­ners of each sec­tion will play in the fi­nals on Sun­day Novem­ber 27.

Two of the fi­nal­ists were Rob Scenery and his part­ner and David Cartwright and his part­ner.

Thank you was ex­pressed to Euroa for the use of the greens, fa­cil­i­ties and the ladies for the lunch.

To­day, Wed­nes­day, the Women’s State Triples will be played at Euroa.

This Fri­day the club will have a thank you night for our spon­sors with savouries and drinks.

This will take place af­ter pen­nant prac­tice, so please sup­port this evening.

Our spon­sors not only sup­port our spe­cial days but on each pen­nant day their names are dis­played on our pen­nant score boards on both Tues­days and Satur­day.

This is a gen­er­ous con­tri­bu­tion to our club.
