Euroa Gazette - - NEWS -

It is necessary to register at www. benallageol to attend the conference but attendance just for Monday is an option.

Wednesday lectures will be more technical and a showcase of leading granite research worldwide.

Field trips are planned for Tuesday and Thursday, and lectures go beyond granite on Friday-Saturday.

In late 2016 we will be starting to make decisions about the field trip itineraries for the Benalla Granite Symposium.

RESIDENTS and staff at Currie Park, in Weir Street Euroa, recently helped Eileen Anderson, a resident of more than 20 years, celebrate her 95th birthday, with an afternoon tea party.

Eileen spent her childhood in Euroa and has many happy memories of her time as a schoolgirl and young adult, during which she made many lifelong friends.

Most of her adult life was spent in Melbourne, where she married and raised her family while at the same time working, until she was retired from the workforce at the great age of 70 years.

It was at this time that Eileen decided to return to her much-loved Euroa and renew the girlhood friendships she had made and retained during her absence.

Eileen keeps good health, and her memory of matters relating to the Richmond Football Club is to be envied.

A one-eyed fan all her life, Eileen never misses a broadcast of any game which involves her beloved Tigers and her sitting-room at Currie Park is well stocked with Tiger souvenirs.

We all wish Eileen many more years of good health and hope to celebrate her 100th birthday in 2021.

PARTY TIME: Eileen Anderson celebrated her 95th birthday last week surrounded by friends at Currie Park.
