Under 14 team makes grand final at Country Week
JUNIOR Country Week cricket in the Northern Rivers Cricket competition was held between January 3 and 6.
Euroa youngsters from local junior and senior teams were well-represented in different teams in this competition.
They included Andrew Crosbie (under 16), Tom Panuccio (under 15), James Herring and Nic Burke (under 14) and Fletcher Paul and Nic Hill (under 13).
Games were played across the region in Shepparton, Mooroopna, Murchison, Tallarook, Seymour, Numurkah, Yea, Tallygaroopna, Cobram and Bendigo.
Initially the games were played on Tuesday through to Thursday with the finals on Friday.
The under 14 team won all their games and played in the grand final on Friday, against Bendigo at Rochester, although they were not victorious in this match.
Opportunities such as these are a wonderful experience for any child, especially those from country regions as they provide them with a chance to play with and against very skilled players which will no doubt lead to many individual improvements.
For these children to participate in this event there had to be a huge commitment from parents and other family members, as the children were transported across the countryside every day.
CELEBRATIONS: Tom Panuccio and Henry Jackson (under 15) enjoy the moment after a wicket falls at Mooroopna.
