Violet Town B grade scores over strong Nagambie

Best on court: Bec Mathieson and Ally Chaszcziwsky B Grade The Violet Town girls were in for a tough game on Saturday, August 5.
The first quarter started off slowly with each team scoring goal for goal.
Leah Wynd and Kelsey Moss dominated in defence while Abbie Ellis hardly missed a shot.
At the start of the fourth quarter Nagambie were down by 10 but they kept the pres- sure on.
The Violet Town girls played their hearts out, securing a win for their team. It was a great game by all. Final score: Violet Town 39; Nagambie 34
Best on court: Abbie Ellis and Jazmin Edwards C Grade Taking on the top undefeated team, VT knew that it was going to be a tough game.
The girls came out with a very strong start and it was very even until half time.
The girls all played as a team with a couple of girls only getting some of the court time, so it just shows what a great team spirit the girls have.
Saturday proved that VT are definitely final’s contenders.

Best on court: Thalia Ellis and Kirsten Bowles Under 17 The girls came up against a second-placed Nagambie with their undefeated reputation on the line.
In the first quarter the girls were slow off the mark.
After some words and refocusing at the first break, the girls came out a different team in the second quarter.
This performance fl owed on until the end of the game.
The strong defensive pressure of Chelsea Walsh proved vital in the girl’s 10 goal win with Macey Matthews converting the crucial turn overs.
The girls kept their composure and proved solid leading into the final few games of the home and away season.
It was a great team effort from everyone.

Best on court: Macey Matthews and Chelsea Walsh Under 15 The girls knew that they would have to work hard against Nagambie and having a wet start to the game didn’t help.
Unfortunately Nagambie were too strong for the team to come out with a win
