Not one shred of evidence

Euroa Gazette - - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR -

PERHAPS these anti-logging groups who falsely claim that they are about sustainability are being caught out at their own mischief.

Have found one letter on FOI they try to build a case that VicForests are lying.

VicForests has no obligation whatsoever to answer to a self-proclaimed group of anti-loggers.

At present six state forests are having surveys for leadbeater possum undertaken causing them to be closed to logging.

These surveys have arisen from the pressure from fundamentalist environmental groups attempting to prevent logging in state forests, not environmentalist but mischief makers.

Trying to force DELPW to undertake a review of Strathbogie state forest was a strategy used by the anti-logging group to prevent logging in Strathbogie

Before looking for the speck in VicForests eye these anti-logging fundamentalist environmentalist need to look at the log in their own eye.

This group has no accreditation by anybody but at the February 20, 2014 meeting accused ViForests of ignoring them.

At the two meetings initiated by VicForests their behaviour was appalling with placards, rudeness and threats of violence and court action and they cannot countenance any opinion but their own.

The leadbeater possum must be the most surveyed animal on the planet as these fundamentalist use every dubious untruthful ploys to prevent logging.

Not one of the logs recently harvested from Strathbogie contained nesting holes, all stumps will regenerate, the forest floor was unharmed, space has been made for greater regeneration, and Australia’s economy has benefited and there is not one shred of evidence that one animal or bird was harmed in any way.

Mark Blackwell, Strathbogie
