Beds on the way to people in need

Euroa Gazette - - NEWS -

Richard McGeehan is both a member of the Rotary Club and a Board Member at Euroa Health.

Mr McGeehan said the unused beds would make a huge difference to those less fortunate overseas.

“Rotary International will take these beds and send them to hospitals in a third world country, who are desperately short of beds.

“There is nothing wrong with these, and they all still work fine. GraniteHill has all new beds, so if we’re not using them, why not send them somewhere they can help others?”

While a use has been found for the beds that used to be in the old aged care buildings, the Euroa Health Board is still looking for ways to utilise the now emptier buildings themselves.

Although some ideas have been floated, none have been taken on, and for the foreseeable future they will remain unoccupied.
