Local play­ers do the district proud

THE Sey­mour District Ju­nior Foot­ball Net­ball League held its pre­sen­ta­tion night last week, with a num­ber of local play­ers and of­fi­cials recog­nised for out­stand­ing years.

Over­all five Euroa play­ers and un­der 12 Ta­bilk foot­baller An­gus Mur­ray were pre­sented with awards, fin­ish­ing top three in their re­spec­tive foot­ball or net­ball vote counts.

Un­der 12 net­baller Mil­lie Wat­son fin­ished sec­ond over­all in the league vote count, fin­ish­ing with 17 votes, two be­hind Grace Barry from St Mary’s FNC.

In the un­der 14 di­vi­sion two net­ball com­pe­ti­tion Euroa com­pleted the dou­ble, with Olivia Gall ( 12 votes) and Ella David­son ( 10) fin­ish­ing first and sec­ond.

The un­der 12 foot­ball count had a clear win­ner in Ta­bilk’s An­gus Mur­ray, who polled 30 votes. Mur­ray fin­ished ahead of Ryan Hill of Euroa who tied for sec­ond with 25 votes.

Two local coaches; Bren­dan Red­fern from Euroa and Ja­son O’Brien from Ta­bilk FNC were pre­sented with the Youth and Ju­nior Coach of the Year Award re­spec­tively.

Euroa un­der 16 foot­baller Bran­don Ebert was also pre­sented with the In­ter­league Coaches Award on the night.

Con­grat­u­la­tions to all those recog­nised for a fan­tas­tic sea­son 2017.
