Avenel Hall upgrade progresses
AVENEL Hall is currently undergoing a $400,000 renovation, with three new meeting rooms and a new rehearsal and craft room making for a greatly improved community building for the town.
The main hall will also be fitted with a new ceiling, and the rest of the facility will be repainted and the toilet facilities renewed.
The project is thanks to a $300,000 grant from the State Government’s Regional Jobs and Infrastructure Fund and a contribution of $100,000 from the Shire of Strathbogie.
To service the expected increase in usage once complete, council has also funded a new footpath indent at the front of the building and the carpark will be resealed as part of the 2016/17 Capital Works Program, valued at $36,000.
All building work has been undertaken by Daniel Duna Constructions of Seymour, and the renovations are expected to be complete by November this year.
