Dreaming stories showcased through art
“It was hard for me to move away from my country and my people, but that comfortable lifestyle didn’t really appeal to me, and I wanted to share my stories with more people, “he said.
“I am a proud Noongar man, part of the Ngadju people, and most people here in Victoria won’t have heard our stories or seen our kind of art, so that’s something I am passionate about bringing people here to see.
“To the ancestors to the Yorta Yorta peoples of this country, I would like to say thank you for giving me the opportunity to share my culture in your land, and to the people of Violet Town thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to share with you my culture.”
Kim’s artworks are part of a wide variety of artworks have been received for display and sale at this year’s exhibition showcasing the amazing talent of the many artists living in our NE Victorian region.
As well as Kimberley Gray, our guest speaker, the Opening night will feature the presentation of the Art Awards, the raffle draw, live local music and a light supper.
If you can’t get to the opening night the exhibition will be open from 10am until 4pm on both Saturday and Sunday, September 9 and 10.
