Dream­ing sto­ries showcased through art

“It was hard for me to move away from my coun­try and my peo­ple, but that com­fort­able life­style didn’t re­ally ap­peal to me, and I wanted to share my sto­ries with more peo­ple, “he said.

“I am a proud Noon­gar man, part of the Ngadju peo­ple, and most peo­ple here in Vic­to­ria won’t have heard our sto­ries or seen our kind of art, so that’s some­thing I am pas­sion­ate about bring­ing peo­ple here to see.

“To the an­ces­tors to the Yorta Yorta peo­ples of this coun­try, I would like to say thank you for giv­ing me the op­por­tu­nity to share my cul­ture in your land, and to the peo­ple of Vi­o­let Town thank you so much for giv­ing me the op­por­tu­nity to share with you my cul­ture.”

Kim’s art­works are part of a wide va­ri­ety of art­works have been re­ceived for dis­play and sale at this year’s ex­hi­bi­tion show­cas­ing the amaz­ing ta­lent of the many artists liv­ing in our NE Vic­to­rian re­gion.

As well as Kim­ber­ley Gray, our guest speaker, the Open­ing night will fea­ture the pre­sen­ta­tion of the Art Awards, the raf­fle draw, live lo­cal mu­sic and a light supper.

If you can’t get to the open­ing night the ex­hi­bi­tion will be open from 10am un­til 4pm on both Satur­day and Sun­day, September 9 and 10.

En­try is $10.
