‘The Long View’ of­fers per­spec­tive of the land

THANKS to the Friends of the Euroa Li­brary, ev­ery­one is in­vited to visit an ex­hi­bi­tion of paint­ings themed ‘The Long View: Land­scape, land and my coun­try of life’, by artist April-Kaye Ik­inci.

The paint­ings are up now and on view all Septem­ber un­til Oc­to­ber 15 at the Euroa Li­brary dur­ing ac­cess hours.

The ex­hi­bi­tion of land­scapes in­cludes places in Avenel (‘Wait­ing for the Walk’), three of Ruffy (‘Af­ter the Fire’), Li­cola (‘Sum­mer Storm’), two TownCoun­try edges of Mel­bourne, plus in­tu­itive paint­ings of snow and ice land­scapes as metaphor, with a can­vas of cel­e­bra­tion of the artists ‘coun­try mine’.

There is a of­fer (new to Septem­ber 15) to those who have or own un­wanted fruit trees.

There is a free tree-re­moval pro­gram now avail­able.

That’s right, some­one will come and take you fruit tree away for free.

Bot­tle trap and other de­signs avail­able on the in­ter­net with many recipes in­clud­ing or­ganic, see Avenel Pri­mary School news­let­ter no 27.

Avenel school had the fun of a bot­tle trap dec­o­rat­ing (a 2 litre plas­tic milk bot­tle) com­pe­ti­tion, with the prod­ucts to be dis­trib­uted around the lo­cal area in fruit trees.

Ir­ish Drum player and/or small per­cus­sion play­ers in­vited to join Avenel House’s ukulele mob in ex­plor­ing and play­ing a whole range of dif­fer­ent mu­sic.

School hol­i­days spe­cial art pro­gram at Avenel Neigh­bour­hood House with April-Kaye Ik­inci on Thurs­day 28th and Oc­to­ber 5, 1-3pm.

The ses­sions will con­sist mainly of paint­ing and col­lage, with all ma­te­ri­als pro­vided.

$7 per ses­sion, with fam­ily dis­counts avail­able. Ev­ery­one of all ages in­vited to come along, al­though chil­dren need to be ac­com­pa­nied by an adult.
